The new four-story, 128,000 square foot mixed use campus behemoth houses departments, classrooms, studios, and crit spaces for various art disciplines, as well as history and language curriculums. Each level includes administrative departments such as finance, marketing, HR and admissions, as well as classrooms, labs, and studios, allowing for a hearty interaction of students, faculty, and administration, all under one roof. A soaring four-story sky lit atrium serves as the visual, social and circulatory heart of the structure. From this central core, students can access the large art studios in the lowest level or gather for an impromptu review session in the crit area. On the third level, drawing and painting studios enjoy massive expanses of windows, taking advantage of crisp Northern light. To enhance the interaction, students and administrative personnel can meet on a cascading stair/bleacher area for classes or quick meetings, taking full advantage of the lively common area atmosphere before returning to language labs or offices located on the outer, light filled regions of each level.
